How everything works

Keyboard

  • Every tool has a key: V select, W walls, R room, D door, N window, B balcony, F furniture, T text, M measure, H pan.
  • While you are drawing a wall, type the length you want and press Enter. The wall comes out exactly that long, in the direction you are pointing.

Which way the building faces

  • The dial by the zoom buttons carries the sun and north together. Drag the sun to turn the light.
  • N shows where north ends up. Set it once and the 3D sun rises and sets on the right sides of your home.

Drawing walls

  • Drag from corner to corner to draw a wall
  • Walls snap to the grid and to corners you already drew, so rectangles close true.
  • Select a wall to type its exact length, thickness, height and paint colour.
  • Drag the circle at either end to move a corner. Every wall joined there follows it.

Curving a wall

  • Select a wall. A gold dot appears at its middle: drag that dot sideways and the wall bows.
  • Or type the angle in the Curve box for an exact arc. Straighten sets it back to flat.
  • The corners never move, so the room stays closed and its area updates as the wall bends.

Doors and windows

  • Pick Door or Window and click the wall you want it in. Drag it along the wall to reposition it.
  • With Door armed, choose the kind first: internal, front door, French, sliding for a balcony or terrace, double, pocket, garage, or an open passage with no door at all.
  • Windows come in six styles: standard, floor to ceiling, bay, glazing bars, arched and round. Pick the style before you click the wall.
  • The tool stays armed after each one, so you can go round the whole house without picking it again.
  • Select one to set its width, its height, how high the sill sits, and which way a door swings.

Rooms

  • A room appears by itself the moment walls enclose a space, and its area is shown live.
  • Click the floor inside a room to name it. Tap one of the room types, or type any name in your own language.
  • Give it a floor finish: oak, tile, stone, carpet or concrete. It shows in 3D.

Furniture and structures

  • Pick the sofa icon, choose a piece, then click to place it. Pieces turn and sit flush against the nearest wall.
  • Press R to rotate, or drag the handle above a selected piece. Drag its edges to resize.
  • Stairs and columns are in the Structure group.

Balconies

  • Pick the railing icon, then click the wall your balcony hangs off. It is drawn outward from that wall, with its railing.
  • Select it to choose the railing: bars, glass or solid, and how high it stands.
  • Drag its edges like any other wall to change how wide it is or how far it projects.
  • Its floor is measured and shown separately, because a balcony is not living area.

Measurements and labels

  • Pick the ruler, click one end of what you are measuring, then the other. It snaps to corners.
  • Drag the line to move it clear of the walls. The number follows the two points it was placed on.
  • The T tool drops a text label anywhere on the plan.

Tracing a plan you already have

  • Upload a photo of your plan, then set the scale from a measurement: click the two ends of something whose real length is printed on it and type that number.
  • Getting the scale right is what makes every area on your plan match the paper.
  • The photo is only a guide. It never appears in downloads or renders.

Floors

  • Add a floor with the plus beside the floor chips, and switch between them by tapping.
  • Each floor keeps its own walls, furniture and trace photo. In 3D they stack.

Seeing it in 3D

  • Switch to 3D up top. Rooms looks into the home, Outside shows it as a building you can circle, Top is straight down.
  • Walk puts you inside at eye level: drag to look, and move with WASD or the on-screen stick.
  • The sun button changes the time of day.

Taking it with you

  • Export gives you the plan as an image, a presentation sheet with room areas and a scale bar, a DXF for CAD, or a 360 panorama.
  • Make it real turns your plan into a photoreal picture of the finished home, in the style you pick.
